Step inside one of regional Australia’s most historic breweries and experience a behind the scenes journey through more than 153 years of brewing history. 🧱

Hosted personally by owner Nathan Cowan, this one hour experience is part brewery tour, part tasting adventure, and part honest story about rebuilding one of Beechworth’s most iconic businesses. 🍻

Your tour begins with a welcome tasting on arrival before diving into the fascinating history of Beechworth, the Billson family, and the founding of the brewery in 1872. 🏔️

From there, you’ll step onto our factory viewing deck overlooking the working production facility to see drinks being crafted in real time. Along the way, Nathan shares the remarkable highs and lows of the past eight years, from restoring a forgotten pigeon filled brewery to building Australia’s fastest growing independent beverage brand, along with the enormous challenges faced throughout every step of the journey. 🐦

You’ll explore the working brewery and distillery, wander through our historic underground cellars, and enjoy a private guided tasting featuring fresh beer on tap, cordials, syrups, jams, bottled spirits, liqueurs and more. ✨

Guests will also enjoy a special tasting of Alfred’s Herbal Botanical Brew, our unique non alcoholic botanical creation inspired by traditional herbal recipes from the brewery’s early history. 🌿

The tour then continues beneath the brewery into our original 1870s red brick well, where Nathan shares the story of the pristine alpine spring water that still flows beneath Last St today, including the historic awards it once received. 💧

Finally, you’ll climb to the top of the brewery tower and explore our private museum collection filled with original bottles, brewing artefacts and stories from generations past. 🏛️

Every guest receives a complimentary bottle of Beechworth spring water drawn directly from the historic well beneath the brewery.

⏰ Tours run at 11:00am Thursday to Monday, with daily tours during school holidays and peak periods.
